RR Power Project Highlights
Renewable EnergyRR Power was selected to provide the detailed engineering for a 138kV connected 15MWac solar generation project near Kamloops, British Columbia. The project is an EPC delivery model and we are working directly with the EPC contractor as the engineer of record to provide 138kV transmission line, substation and all site works for the PV array and 34.5kV collector system.
RR Power provided preliminary engineering support to Stantec Consulting for several large ground-mount solar projects in the United States.
Working with Stantec's environmental team, RR Power provided electrical designs, figures and technical input for submission to various government authorities having jurisdiction Our main deliverables included initial site layout development, PV array and collector system designs, wetland, waterway and rail crossing figures for permitting and approval purposes. |
Customer Services
Working with PBW High Voltage, RR Power has been involved in the design of many customer service upgrades and new services. RR Power provides the necessary engineering drawings and studies such as installation drawings and grounding studies and manages the submission to the Electrical Safety Authority for High Voltage Plans Review.
Projects sites included several Manufacturing and industrial facilities, Golf Courses, Quarries, and the Toronto Zoo. Working with Wellington North Power, we have provided CIA's for several new large customer connections, including DG projects with solar generation.

Street LightingRR Power works with Toronto Hydro's street lighting department to provide design and review services for a number of project types including:
Working directly with developers and their design consultants, RR Power has provided site lighting design and photometric analysis to support the site plan submissions and approval process in several regions throughout Ontario including Cambridge, London, Whitby, Toronto, Kitchener and Bradford.

Overhead Electrical DistributionThe City of Barrie rebuilt a section of Duckworth Street which will included road widening activities. The work required the relocation of all impacted Alectra infrastructure including overhead and underground distribution infrastructure up to 44kV. RR Power performed the design for all of the Alectra related work as well as coordination with the City’s consultant.
RR Power has completed many planned capital work for GrandBridge Energy over the past few years within Cambridge, Brant County, Paris and Brantford. All overhead designs are modeled using PLS-CADD. Projects have included:

Overhead TransmissionStructure replacement project for Nova Scotia Power included modeling of an existing 230kV transmission line using PLS-CADD to determine spot replacement locations due to insufficient ground clearance, structural failures, or inadequate line-to-line clearances at crossing locations. Development of 50-year return period line reliability criteria using CSA 60826-19, IEC 60826-17, CSA 22.3 No. 1-20. Development of structure replacements report consisting of Plan & Profile drawings, detailed construction staking reports, framing details summary, bill of materials, phasing diagrams, stringing charts, design basis criteria report, damping study.
Working with several partner engineering firms, we developed alternative potential routes and recommended a preferred alternative for 138kV transmission lines in Saskatchewan. We used SaskPower’s typical routing criteria and process to develop potential transmission line route alternative recommendations.
Working with a high-voltage construction firm, we provided several engineering assessments including a review of grounding system for towers and gantry structure impacted by the civil repair, OPGW thermal study and gradient ring/arcing horn assessment study on 230kV tower insulators.

Residential / Commercial DevelopmentRR Power provided design for electrical servicing for the Paris Meadows development within Paris, Ontario. The development consisted of two phases with approximately 280 homes and a large commercial and industrial area.
RR Power provided design for electrical servicing, street lighting and street lighting installation within the Bosdale Subdivision located on the south end of Cambridge, ON. The development consisted of several municipal and condominium blocks with a total of approximately 100 homes.
